A pair of undefeated, ranked teams will face off against one another on Saturday at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium, as the Texas Longhorns (4-0, 1-0) host the Kansas Jayhawks (4-0, 1-0). Both have star quarterback in Quinn Ewers and Jalon Daniels, respectively, and both have defenses that have looked elite to this point in the season.
Kansas has had success against the Longhorns over the last decade, winning once in Lawrence (2016) and shocking Steve Sarkisian and Longhorns with an upset win in OT the last time they played in Aust (2021). Prior to that, the Jayhawks had not beaten the Longhorns since 1938.
Jayhawks head coach Lance Liepold has his program headed in the right direction and another upset win over the No. 3 Longhorns would be the biggest ever in Kansas football history. The Texas defense will have its hands full defending Daniels, but they must limit big plays and contain him if they wish to avoid the upset.
The stakes are high in Austin for both teams and a win continues momentum. For Texas, they would take an undefeated record into Dallas next weekend to face arch rival Oklahoma. Kansas will host UCF in Lawrence next Saturday and would need one more win to become bowl eligible for the second straight season.
Kickoff will take place at 2:30 pm and the game will be shown regionally on ABC.
