An insider at IT (dimitri) posted tonight a big attorney has drawn up a contract document for UT with the terms of 8.75 mil a year, for 6 years ending at 10. The document is not yet signed and apparently he talked to this person directly who wrote it and had written another contract in the past we would have seen. People can speculate on who it could be for. Would fit with UT making a formal offer to someone soon

I saw that. The whole thread is full of win, but the 'I do not run with guidos' comment made me LOL. And I never LOL.

That kind of money is reserved for only one coach, a coach that has proven he wins national championships.

Would go against what Patterson told the media this evening:

Pattersn indicated that Texas isn't interested in setting a new ceiling for coaches salaries. Said just because Texas has the resources doesn't mean they should be exhausted to the fullest possible extent just because they're available.

Who cares what Patterson said to the media in the midst of his coaching search. Do you think he's really going to come out and lay it all out for ESPN and the likes?

Never show your hand and never brag about your bank account. Of course he'll preach fiscal responsibility when we're about to blow every other NCAA salary out of the water, he can come back later and call it an 'investment.' And it is.

I'm confused. Are you an LSU fan or horns?

Just sharing what was said.

On the flip side why would it be said at all? He certainly didn't need to offer the comment up.
