Interesting....

Keep in mind, this chatsports.com article also talks about Michigan. "... if there was a job opening at Michigan, he would accept the job if offered." John H. went to high school in Ann Arbor and his dad was an assistant under Bo Schembechler. Maybe there's nothing to this, maybe there is. Either way though, I'm keeping my eyes on he prize that is Saban. IMO it makes more sense to offer that kind of money to NS.

Well this chatsports article says Harbaugh! But why the hell would Ace Williams of Michigan be privy to a 'fact' like that?
John Harbaugh graduated from HS in Michigan. His Dad coached at Michigan under Schembeckler (sp?).

John was also an assistant at Western Michigan at one time.

Not trying to give credibility to any report, just trying to show there's a connection there between JH and Michigan.

Another insider on IT (Zzzizzzy) is saying that he is hearing an announcement about our new HC will come this weekend with Monday at the latest.

He post here as well

An insider at IT (dimitri) posted tonight a big attorney has drawn up a contract document for UT with the terms of 8.75 mil a year, for 6 years ending at 10. The document is not yet signed and apparently he talked to this person directly who wrote it and had written another contract in the past we would have seen. People can speculate on who it could be for. Would fit with UT making a formal offer to someone soon
Lends credence to the thickening "John Harbaugh #1 and Saban 0%" smoke screen.

current salaryJH - $4 million

NS - $7.5 million

doesnt make sense to offer JH that much more than what he is making now.
He makes way more than 4 mil I believe. Don't know who this contract offer is for. John H would be a great hire but still feels like him getting a first offer would be smoke

Edit: quick search on google is he makes more than 7m and got an extension in 2013. Is one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL

Dimitri also claimed Saban was playing golf at Barton Creek Country Club just hours before he signed his extension so he's not a reliable source. In fact, I don't think he knows anything.

Just sharing what was said.
On the flip side why would it be said at all? He certainly didn't need to offer the comment up.
makes you wonder if we've been told "no" by our top guy or two, and realize that what we'd pay a second-tier guy isn't of course in the same ballpark, hence the comment by Patterson

dont know about that or his track record. I do know he's one of their insiders and JS has backed him in the past. From what I've read in the past he does have connections..I think he's just sharing what he heard. Could be BS...or the person he had dinner with was telling the truth

If this is true, then this season must have been really bad for Harbaugh to cause him to change course so drastically in a relatively short period of time.

Harbaugh signed a four-year extension to remain Baltimore head coach, according to ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio. The contract was negotiated this offseason, but Florio said both parties were willing to keep that deal under wraps until after this season. Considering the secretive nature of coaching contracts, that is not a surprise.

According to PFT, Harbaugh’s previous contract went through the 2014 season, but the new deal will keep him on Baltimore’s sidelines through 2016. He will reportedly make $7 million a year, which should place his salary about New Orleans’ Sean Payton, Kansas City’s Andy Reid and New England’s Bill Belichick.

How would someone know what a "big time attorney" is drawing up? All of that stuff is protected by attorney client privilege. The attorney and his staffs careers depend on keeping such things from being known.

I'm pretty sure this is different. The attorney is there just to provide legal clarity, not to keep someone from going to jail. The attorney's client is most likely the University, not an actual person.
