Rumblings are that aggy would like to get Ossai and let this kid find his own way. I think thats crazy. This kid has tons of upside, never really been coached.
Visiting Arky next week. He loves Chavis so good chane he flips to them.

Some of you guys crack me up.

Believing we would have White in the bag now if we had just offered him earlier is ridiculous.
I trust what Daniel Seahorn thinks since he actually talks to the recruits, staff, and does this for a living.  I may not always like it but he is more in than know then anyone else here and that includes posters with special contacts.  The late offer to White was widely discussed on here and other sites such TFB.  The consensus was he wanted to be a longhorn early in the process but even admitted in the quote below the late offer changed his perception.

Texas’ recruitment of Texas A&M linebacker commit DaShaun White has been a bit interesting. The Longhorns looked like they were going to extend an offer to White back in the summer when he visited Austin on his own dime to work out at a camp, enabling the staff to see him up close. White measured in above the expected measurables and tested very well, so it seemed like the next logical step was to put an offer on the table.

Not so fast, my friends. The offer came, but later on down the line a month after he already gave a verbal pledge to Texas A&M over Oklahoma. So did the late offer impact White’s perception of Texas? Yes, but the good news is he and the staff seem to have worked through that.

“It did. It was brought to my attention why it (the offer) was so late and the numbers and things,”

“So I got to clear up a bit of confusion. It doesn’t affect anything now.”

Aggy offered him early and what did that get them?
ou offered White on April 30th  We didnt extend an offer until Oct 11th.

You are saying its "ridiculous" to think we lost White because we didnt offer him early.  ou did offer him early......almost 7 months before we did!

Then you go on to mention the ags as an example.

Just to be clear, you do not believe losing an entire coaching staff which was involved in their recruitment process should have any effect on a recruits commitment just weeks before early signing day but its completely ridiculous to believe an early offer should affect a recruits decision?

I see grown men get butthurt on this forum on a weekly basis.  Is it really that hard to believe a HS teenager doesnt feel the same when they do not get an offer from a school that they wanted or felt they deserved?  White's quote above clearly shows it did at some point, whether you buy into the last statement of his quote is up to you.  He should have been offered after the camp in the summer.  Why wasn't White offered early?  Who knows but I will trust Daniel's opinion since he was the one that wrote the piece above and doesnt have a Chiptonian agenda and obviously he knows more about it than you or I do.

Texas extends an offer to Texas A&M Commit Tyree Wilson.

Saw this kid play week 1 against my old high school. He was the best athlete on the field and just did whatever he wanted on defense.

Don't know how to link it to here, but I saw a chart over on the Shag from profootballfocus showing pass blocking efficiency and this kid was ranked 16th in the nation.

I assume this is what you mean.

Derek Warehime liked that tweet btw

He is a LT right? Would be a nice get

Yup he graded out high on PFF and was charted as only allowing one sack and 7 pressures if I remember correctly.

Agree. Enough so that they call our coaches arrogant because we missed out on a recruit.

IDMAS. Maybe we just disagree on the definition of "arrogance".

Why don't you take your own advice. I was simply responding to something that was clearly directed at me. You don't like it, don't read it.
I would say the same to you as you said in a previous post that you were letting it go. Anyway dude, not getting in a pissing contest with you over the significance of 1 word.

I understand both sides, Seahorn is saying he would’ve committed with an earlier offer and Bear is saying that a miss by the coaching staff shouldn’t be deemed as arrogance, simply a miss. I thought they were having a healthy conversation, we shouldn’t make this a bigger ordeal than what it is.

Texas missed on white in order to pursue better players and to be honest I think we can get those players next cycle. Let’s discuss our remaining targets and expectations for next season.

assuming that we regress on d and improve offensively, we can get to 9 or 10. Our schedules a lot easier next year than it was this year.

If y’all don’t stop bickering like my 15-18 year old students, I’m going to call in the heavy artillery.  In your case, it’s not your Moms but your wives.  Does everyone understand?

Now go back to overanalyzing the intentions is 17 and 18 year olds and ogling Kate, and let’s play nice!

One more year with everyone buying into the culture will hopefully turn those close losses into Ws. Overall I think we're good at the lb and d line next year, but am hoping that we can ink a couple of players at those positions that can redshirt and contribute the following year. The program will be in much betrer shape when more players are able to redshirt. There will always be a couple of studs that you have to play immediately, but hopefully not a large percentage of your class. On the dl, it seems that there are still some viable targets. Not sure the same can be said at the lb position.
