"When Elliott committed to Michigan in November, I was told by someone I trust that Elliott would eventually sign with the school whose campus he set foot on last. I was inclined to believe it until people from his camp reached out to me to say Michigan was a family decision and that it was a final one as well. Considering he's visiting Texas this weekend, it appears that the Horns will get him on campus last. He definitely won't be back in Ann Arbor.
This will theoretically be Elliott's fifth commitment in less than a year, as he committed to Baylor, Houston, silently committed to Texas, Michigan and then back to Texas."
Please find it. I cannot remember that.
Saw this posted on another board. Very good analysis.
Let's take a look at the 2015 class three weeks to signing day, as well his last two full cycle Louisville classes.
2015
22 out of 29 recruits had commited to Texas by now
7 commitments in last 3 weeks (Five 4 stars, two 3 stars)
76% of the class had been committed by the 3 week mark
In 2013, Charlie's last full cycle at Louisville, he signed 18 players. 14 of the 18 prospects had committed on or prior to the three week mark, which was 78%, which is in the same ball park as his first full class at Texas.
In 2012, he signed 22 players. 19 of the 22 recruits had commited on or prior to the three week mark, which is 86%.
Right now, we have 13 commitments. If the program wants to take 25 players, that represents 48% of the class remaining, which would be in outlier in his career and likely an outlier number amongst a lot of major programs.
I'm not sure if it's logical at this point to expect the program to get 50% of its commitments in a three week time span. It wouldn't surprise me if we end up with about a number around 20, and even that's a higher % close than normal for Strong.
I feel pretty confident its over 20
Maybe it wont reach 26-27 like has been speculated
But 24-25 seems more likely than 20
And, as with all things, we will see
I don't see Martin in the class but who knows. I would add maybe Mark Jackson as well.Updated 12 (assuming Eboh is gone)
BJones, J Mculloch, J Elliot, E Fowler, D Jackson, S Taylor, Sci Martin, Lil'Jordan, Irv Smith, E Cuffee, K Porter, C Brown
I know we visited Sci, but haven't heard anything about him flipping.Updated 12 (assuming Eboh is gone)
BJones, J Mculloch, J Elliot, E Fowler, D Jackson, S Taylor, Sci Martin, Lil'Jordan, Irv Smith, E Cuffee, K Porter, C Brown
It was a sort of coin toss Jackson or Martin. I read somewhere that Martin/Taylor might be interested in coming together and that Texas was interested. Might be BS, but interesting enough to include him in my hypothetical 12.I don't see Martin in the class but who knows. I would add maybe Mark Jackson as well.
In 247's final rankings (came out just a few days ago) Jones dropped 22 spots and down to a 4 star. Pat Hudson dropped 28 spots and is also a 4 star now. That's it!! I've had it trying to catch up while working. Every time I speed read through my last spot I find that I'm still 2 pages behind. Every time. Just gotta skip forward! Awesome work by everyone contruting on this thread. Question. When did B Jones become a 4* on 247 or was he always?? I thought he was 5.
When we first offered I remarked that he looked a lot more like a Wickline recruit than a Traylor one.Do y'all think Aucoin will stick at TE? He looks like another Conner Williams to me after watching his film.
Hard to believe Williams was a TE at Coppell.
I'm giving Kevin Sumlin the benefit of the doubt that he can sell stability to players like Jeffrey McCulloch.
The class will be very good but I'm not seeing how we get to 27-28.I think 27-28 is possible. This class will be very good.
We should sign two S and at least 3 DTs in my opinion.Like Higdon said there's too many names on the board at DB and DT. Some of these guys aren't coming here just from a numbers standpoint.
This is especially true at DB after landing Boyd, Hill and Davis last year at cornerback. We really only need one corner this cycle, the bigger need is safety.
That much better that being plain stupid. That would make you an aggie. Will admit I'm Twitter stupid
