To add injury to the insult that was the Red River Rivalry yesterday, Texas quarterback David Ash will likely miss the Baylor game next weekend with a fractured left wrist suffered in the 4th quarter. Ash fell on the wrist as he was wrapped in the backfield by Sooner defensive end Chuka Ndulue. While the injury is to Ash’s non-throwing hand, the prognosis is uncertain at this point. The coaching staff and team trainers have reserved comment on the injury thus far but it is highly possible Mack will address it in his weekly press conference on Monday.
Backup quarterback Case McCoy would conceivably be the starter against Baylor if the wrist injury to Ash hinders his ability to throw. McCoy replaced Ash after the injury and threw for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns in the 63-21 loss to Oklahoma.
