Sophmore wide receiver Cayleb Jones was charged with aggravated assault today after an altercation between him and a University of Texas tennis player last month, which left the tennis player with a broken jaw.  According to a tweet from ESPN Horns Nation’s Carter Strickland, the cause for the brawl?  A girl.

Swaysland, a sophmore Longhorn tennis player from Wagga Wagga, Australia, apparently is involved with Khat Bell, whom Jones had a previous relationship with.

An arrest warrant was filed for a second degree aggravated assault charge against Jones and shortly afterward Mack Brown announced the suspension of Jones.

Brown on Jones: “…he has been suspended from all team activities pending the completion of the legal process. ” #hookem #longhorns

Jones played in 11 games last season and caught two passes for 35 yards and rushed once for 10 yards.  The 6-foot-3 215 lb. receiver was thought to be a candidate to see more playing time this season after impressing the coaching staff early in the spring.  His future with the Longhorns is in serious jeopardy as a result of the incident with Swaysland.
