As if we didn’t know… Or, at least we hoped…. Mack Brown held his Monday press conference to discuss the BYU game and talk shop. Prior to Mack taking the podium the depth chart notes were released to media members. The current depth chart shows sophmore quarterback Chase McCoy listed as the starting quarterback with David Ash as the second-stringer. Garrett Gilbert, who was the team’s starter for the first two games of the season, is listed as the third string qb. True freshman running back Malcolm Brown slipped into the starting running back position.
These revelations are early Christmas presents to Longhorn fans, who have expressed disappointment in Gilbert’s play at quarterback as well as their desire for more playing time for running back Malcolm Brown. The moves come as the Longhorns are scheduled to take on the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California this Saturday at 2:30 am on ABC. Hook’em!
