"Big Tex" Dead at 60

An icon that graced the state fair of Texas for 60 years was burnt to a crisp this morning in a matter of 15 minutes.  Less than a week after the drubbing the Longhorns took at the Hands of the Sooners for the 3rd straight year, did Big Tex finally have enough?

Big Tex left a suicide note …… said he couldn't take another lopsided OU win over Texas.

— Tuxedo Yoda (@TuxedoYoda) October 19, 2012

Unfortunately Big Tex was the victim of an apparent electrical fire that started in his left boot and torched everything but his belt buckle, hands and arms.

The fair has lost a legend but plans are already in the works to rebuild a bigger, better “Big Tex” to keep watch over the state fair.

R.I.P. Tex.
