The Texas Longhorns continue to reinforce their receiver room with the addition of Sterling Berkhalter via the transfer portal.
Berkhalter began his collegiate career at Cincinnati Bearcats, where he flashed early production in 2024, hauling in 11 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown. He later transferred to Wake Forest Demon Deacons, elevating his role and impact. Last season, the 6-foot-3, 203-pound wideout posted 30 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns, showing the ability to win on the perimeter and provide a reliable target in the passing game.
Texas adds Berkhalter as another proven, physically imposing option to a deep and talented receiver corps that already features Cam Coleman (transfer from Auburn), Ryan Wingo, Emmett Mosley V, Daylan McCutcheon, and Kaliq Lockett. His size and experience add immediate competition and versatility to Steve Sarkisian’s offensive arsenal.
The Longhorns also strengthened the trenches by signing Berkhalter’s former teammate on the offensive line, Melvin Siani, further underscoring a transfer haul aimed at bolstering both skill positions and protection up front.
Texas continues to be aggressive in the portal, and Berkhalter’s arrival gives the Longhorns another dependable, high-upside target as they prepare for the upcoming season.
