The No. 2 overall national seed Texas Longhorns are set to host an NCAA Regional in Austin for the first time since 2022. Jim Schlossnagle’s club will serve as the top seed in the region, followed by the No. 2 UTSA Roadrunners, the No. 3 seed Kansas State Wildcats and the fourth seed Houston Christian Huskies.
The Longhorns, who are hosting a regional for the 38th time in program history, will open up play against Houston Christian on Friday at 1:00 pm. The two teams met once this season, with the Longhorns run-ruling the Huskies 12-2 on April 8th.
UTSA and Kansas State will play their opening game on Friday at 6:00 pm.
Losers from Friday’s games will play again on Saturday at 2:00 pm, with the winners playing on Saturday at 8:00 pm. Sunday’s elimination game takes place at 2:00 pm, and the first championship game at 6:00 pm.
Regional play includes a double-elimination format with the games scheduled to be conducted from Friday, May 30 to Monday, June 2 (if necessary).
Texas is making its 64th postseason appearance all-time and holds a national best record of 155-59-1. The Longhorns are 87-22 in postseason games played in Austin.
