The Texas Longhorns (9-1, 6-1) and the Iowa State Cyclones (6,4 5-2) will meet for the final time as members of the Big 12 on Saturday night in Ames, and there will be no love lost between the two programs afterwards. The Longhorns hold a 15-5 advantage all-time in wins against the Cyclones, but have lost three of the last four games at Jack Trice Stadium dating back to 2015.

While the Longhorns sit alone at the top of the Big 12 Standings, Iowa State is in a second-place logjam with three other teams (Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas State). Both teams need a win, and Saturday proves to be another battle between the ‘Horns and ‘Clones with kickoff coming at 7:00 PM.

Mark Freund, sports reporter with WHO13news, interviewed Iowa State offensive lineman Jarrod Hufford at Tuesday’s media availability and asked him his thoughts about the final Texas-Iowa State Big 12 meeting. His response wasn’t positive about the Texas program or players.

“It’s going to be one heck of a farewell present. They are going to come in here on senior night in the dark. I don’t think they really know what is going to be coming for them. We’ve beaten them 4 out of the last 5 times at home. They don’t have a good record here. They get all the 5-star recruits and have all the nicest stuff in the world and they just think they don’t stink. They’re just humans and that’s how I see them. They’re people that have such a high ego that need to be checked.”

Iowa State LG Jarrod Hufford on Texas coming to town for the final time:

While the Texas players remain focused on leaving Ames with a win, Hufford’s words are certainly bulletin board material for the Longhorns should they choose to use it.
