But that is the case of this young team, they are undefeated and playing as well as any fan could hope for. Season started with an unpopular quarterback but now we are seeing the maturation of two good quarterbacks. Case McCoy and David Ash are easily the future of this Longhorns team, and they are leading this team as a tandem that nobody expected.

There are a lot of new faces on the team and on the coaching staff, but after four solid weeks, this team is showing every week that they are only going to get better and compete on a higher level. Are there National Championship aspirations for this team? Not by a long shot, but the fans and the team are doing this right and just focusing on every week. This week the Longhorns have set their eyes on the Oklahoma Sooners, while the Sooners are one of the top teams in the country, and playing at a championship level, there is a look in this Longhorns team that could easily derail those championship hopes.

This is a rivalry game and in the Red River Shootout, things happen that aren’t supposed to all the time. While the Sooners are touting their top ranking and thinking they will manhandle the Longhorns, the Longhorns are quietly preparing to reverse the tables and stun the Sooners on the field of the Cotton Bowl. No matter what kind of year the Longhorns have, sending the Sooners back across the border with a loss is always a feather in the cap.

The experts will side with Oklahoma, and even casual college fans will side with them. Because that is the safe bet, but I will go ahead and say it here and say it loud, The Longhorns will beat the Sooners on Saturday. It will be a close game, and it will be a dog fight from the onset, but this Texas team is ready to show the nation that they Longhorns are back. This would be a huge step for this young team, and it will catapult the Longhorns back into the nation’s eye.
