Steve Sarkisian wasted little time after dismissing RB coach Chad Scott earlier this week, announcing the hire of former Florida coach Jabbar Juluke on Friday afternoon. Juluke will be the associate head coach for offense in addition to his duties as RB coach.
Juluke comes to Texas with a lengthy resume, including coaching stops at Florida, LSU, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and Texas Tech. The Louisiana native also had a very successful stint at the high school level as the head coach at powerhouse Edna Karr, where he won the Louisiana 4A State Championship in 2012.
The Longhorns will look to make a big jump running the football in 2026 after an uneven rushing performance this past season. Juluke will inherit a room led by soon-to-be senior Tre Wisner. Wisner will be joined by sophomore Christian Clark, redshirt freshman James Simon and incoming freshman Derrek Cooper. Steve Sarkisian also mentioned during his signing day press conference that the Longhorns will likely look to add a running back through the transfer portal.
