The Texas Longhorns’ SEC football opponents for the 2026-2029 seasons were announced, solidifying major rivalries and an exciting slate of games for fans. Texas will face three permanent SEC opponents each year and rotate among the other conference members, as revealed in the official announcement on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
Texas will play Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M every season from 2026 to 2029. This preserves the storied Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma, the Lone Star Showdown against Texas A&M, and the historic Southwest Conference matchup with Arkansas. The Oklahoma game will continue at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas as a neutral-site contest.

Every SEC team will now play each other at least once every two years, with three repeat (annual) opponents and six rotating matchups each season. Each team will also schedule at least one nonconference opponent from a Power 4 conference or Notre Dame annually.
Fans can expect every major SEC program to visit Austin at least once by 2029, and the Longhorns will travel across the South for marquee matchups.
