Dallas Skyline linebacker Elijah “Bo” Barnes became the sixth commitment in Steve Sarkisian’s 2025 recruiting class. The 6-2, 220 pound Barnes announced his pledge to the Longhorns on Friday, following a visit to the 40 Acres the previous weekend.
Barnes is ranked the 13th best linebacker in the country and the 16th best player in the state of Texas according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He held offers from more than 30 schools including Michigan, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon and Alabama, Texas A&M and Notre Dame but ultimately decided to play at the next level in Austin.
He becomes the first linebacker commit in the 2025 class, joining commits DL Lance Jackson, DL Brandon Brown, TE Emaree Winston, QB KJ Lacey and RB Rickey Stewart.
