Texas Defensive Coordinator Pete Kwiatkoswki was named a finalist, along with four other assistant coaches, for the prestigious Broyles Award on Wednesday by the Football Writers Association of America. Kwiatkowski joins Arizona State Offensive Coordinator Marcus Arroyo, Indiana Defensive Coordinator Bryant Haines, Notre Dame Defensive Coordinator Al Golden and Tennessee Defensive Coordinator Tim Banks as finalists.
This season Kwiatkowski has overseen a Texas defense that ranks third nationally in total defense and has tallied 19 interceptions on the season (3rd nationally).
The Broyles Award, named after legendary Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Frank Broyles, was created in 1996 to honor Broyles’ lengthy tenure of choosing and developing assistant coaches.
The Broyles Award will be presented on February 13, 2025 at Oaklawn racetrack in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
