All-time series record: Texas leads Oklahoma State 49-43

Last meeting: Oklahoma State defeated Texas 65-64 (January 13, 2018 – Stillwater, OK)

After losing to Kansas State in Manhattan earlier in the week, Texas will host Oklahoma State at home. The Longhorns have had success against the Cowboys at home, boasting a 28-13 record.  Texas has also won an impressive 11 of the last 13 games between the two schools in Austin. Despite scoring just 48 points in the recent loss to the Wildcats, Texas is still in the picture for an invitation to the NCAA Tournament. A loss to Oklahoma State would be detrimental to hopes of a tournament berth and could all but eliminate them from consideration.  The remaining games for Shaka Smart’s team aren’t easy wins either, with ranked Kansas and West Virginia looming.

Junior forward and Tulane transfer Dylan Osetkowski recorded his third double-double of the season and leads the Longhorns in scoring with 13.8 points per game. True freshman forward Mohamed Bamba leads the Big 12 Conference in double-doubles (14), rebounding (10.9 rpg) and blocked shots (107, 4.0 bpg).

Oklahoma State boasts identical overall and conference records as Texas.  The Cowboys are reeling from a 79-71 win over #6 Texas Tech, in which senior guard Kendall Smith scored 21 points.

Senior Guard Jeffrey Carroll leads Oklahoma State in scoring, averaging 15 points per games and 6 rebounds per game. Smith is second on the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game, followed by junior guard Tavarius Shine who averages 10.4 points per game.
