Song of the night

Nice. Do you listen to any Justin Vernon/Bon Iver? There's a hellacious video on youtube of the group without horns doing 'bloodbank' with Tom of The National on keyboards at Universal in California.

Vernon is talented as hell and Bon Iver's stuff is cool. I never really go into them that much (I always thought the vocals by Vernon were a bit high/whiney) but undoubtedly talented.  The National on the other hand..... I could listen to their entire catalog all day every day.

Check the song you helped me with. I heard him this way before the other and it took me a while to adjust, but it's got good points even though they aren't doing anything since he started the Volcano Choir. I know that Bon Iver did a monster set on Austin City Limits a few years back.

Aaron, a song of hope to help cope with our qb situation. It's better than some believe, but this can help deal with the stress of the worried.

I can dig this.  This sort of reminded me of the Billy Bragg/Wilco Mermaid Avenue Album (of Woodie Guthrie songs).  If you haven't heard Mermaid Ave. check it out.  It will not disappoint.

One of my faves from the album

Ha, I know it well. bbdude's idea is a monster hit with me.

One more to close it out, an unusual offering from the Alan Parson Project's genius writer, Eric Woolfson. And as with Stevie Ray, another we are cheated of with the passing of the days. You may not have heard it.

The same song, and this is what drives my wife crazy about this. She prefers the first, I like both.

Two completely different sounds.  Both decent but that whiney voice I referenced in a previous post is coming out in #2.

Have you heard the Avett Brothers?
