Its been like a funeral for our board members around here for the past year. The spring training that got cancelled. The Spring game as well. Fall camp filled with social justice BS. Then the close encounter of the Lubbotocks kind. Then the TCU slap in the face followed by the OU game and Ehlinger slinging up the Hook'em all by his lonesome . . . .

. . . but TODAY, our hoops team wins the Maui Invitational Championship by knocking off ranked North Carolina. Team is undefeated and making noise and deep enough across the board to make a serious run. . . . meanwhile, someone smuggled in boxes of Urban Meyer votes in the middle of the night and suddenly things have heated up in the UM Sweepstakes and we're favored to win now.

What a day.

Good post.

Interesting that there's no denials coming from Meyer.  I haven't allowed myself to really think Meyer could be coach, but now it appears the possibility really exists.  If Meyer is coach, then the flurry of decommits (from other programs)  and portals will be fun to watch.

Congratulations to us for beating NC.  It seems like we usually get the wrong end of the stick on those close games at the end.

They had a stat on the radio broadcast that caught my attention. UT is 9-1 all time versus NC. I was surprised to hear that.
I’m not getting too excited though. I’ve had my hopes up before.

Texas Hoops has won 5 straight against the Tar Heels.

Yes, that's surprising

The cat is out of the proverbial bag now. Meyer will HAVE to either take the job or publicly deny the rumor/decline.

Again, I've heard this needs to go down before Saturday. I didn't think much about it when I heard, but I do understand why now.

We'll see.

CDC HAS to fire Herman, even if he doesn't HAVE to hire Meyer.  IMO CDC would be fired if he didn't fire Herman.

I'm no CDC fan, though.  I would be fine if he packed his bags.

Herman will likely be a good coach somewhere else where the pressure cooker of being a coach is not so hot as at UT.  My problem with him?  He's just not a LEADER.  He's hesitant.

If he was a golfer, then he'd always play for the safe shot...and then hit it in the water.  Sports is for aggressors.  The timid have NO CHANCE.

What is it you dislike about CDC? Just curious

He f'd up the Sedona Prince situation.

She was badly injured.  The coaches rushed her back and she was forced to get another surgery.  The Princes  paid for that surgery, about 28K.  CDC said he would not pay them back.

All he had to do was be nice to them.  Instead he basically kicked her out the door.  Now she's STARTING at Oregon.  Great athlete.  Great parents.  Great student.  Great attitude.  Great teammate.

She was all Texas all the time and Aston and CDC kicked her to the ground.  And then claimed her mother was a helicopter parent.  Well I know that parent and that was the furthest thing from the truth.

It didn't have to happen.
