PLACING THE "T" BACK IN TEXAS: "Godzillatron" Should Remain The Largest...

Had always heard with the last aggie expansion they decreased the width of football stadium seats to increase the capacity. Someone in the media had mentioned they didn't think the narrow dimensions were up to code, but what do I know about that. Don't recall the exact dimensions, but I seem to recall DKR seats were two inches wider. I guess we have bigger asses than in college station, no...just a silly way to increase "seating" capacity. Of course they don't sit anyways, too busy making everyone dizzy with swaying and silly gestures organized by dudes in white painter's jumpsuits.

Screw the ags the best thing to do is to not see them. We need to focus on what we're doing. The ags will implode, it's what they do.
Monarch- I'm not sure why you choose the writing style you do but it doesn't help you get your point across, at least not to me.
...well, i tell you what GARCH, whenever you come across another one of my "initiated" threads.... PLEASE do not enter! in fact, just head on down the "threads" highway. NOW did i get my point across?

The Godzillatron is the biggest single reason for the lack of crowd energy and loss of home field advantage at DKR. Fans attend college games for the emotion, pagentry and tradition, and the Godzillatron sucks attention and crowd energy away from the game in order to sell commercial advertising. You can't maintain crowd energy at DKR when the game experience is interrupted by a blasting ad or announcement on the giant screen.
We need to sell-off the Godzillatron to some poorer school that needs the commercial revenues. Put in 4 smaller screens in each quadrant of the stadium, and use them to see replay better. Allow only video commercials, but no audio ads at all. Put in a great sound system throughout the stadium, mike-up the Longhorn Band, and play either the LHB's music or stadium rock during timeouts and quarter changes to keep crowd energy up. Limit all announcements to pre-game and half-time.
...OMG! i do not even know where to began to respond to this profound rhetoric. my dear watson, are you actually blaming the "godzillatron" as per the lack of fan response at "university of texas" gridiron matches? i am simply at a loss for words here... you have got to be kidding!

Here's the big issue: aggy has been riding our coat-tails and trying to out p!ss us for decades because we are proactive and they are reactive. We need better, not bigger. This is why we've hired Disney to improve the game day experience. I too think 4 screens would be much better and have no problem with a more modest screen. We've scrapped our originally planned expansion to 115K to concentrate on more profitable revenue streams in today's environment. aggy should sell out all games before expanding but that wouldn't be symbolic. I'd rather stick with substance over symbolism; and dominating on the field will be the best improvement to game day experience anyway.
