Going to go ahead and start this thread tonight so that we can get rolling bright and early. Feel free to put any commentary, tweets, etc. in here pertaining to signing day. LHN will begin coverage at 8:00 a.m. I believe. For your convenience, below is a list of all early signees and other commits and targets:
Early Signees
Cameron Rising - QB
Casey Thompson - QB
Brennan Eagles - WR
Al'vonte Woodard - WR
Reese Moore - OT
Malcolm Epps - TE
Cameron Dicker - K
Byron Hobbs - OLB
Adele Adeoye - ILB
D'Shawn Jamison - CB
Jalen Green - CB
Caden Sterns - S
DeMarvion Overshown - S
BJ Foster - S
Other Commits
Keaontay Ingram - RB
Clint Buckley of ETSN announced that Keaontay Ingram informed him he will not sign early. Although some may worry, I am not. Ingram is very solid to Texas and I fully expect him to ink with the class. The coaches still need to recruit him hard as a precaution against teams like Auburn, but he knows he will see the field almost immediately.
Rafiti Ghirmai - OT
It seems unlikely that Ghirmai will take advantage of the early signing period tomorrow. Things can obviously change, but I would not be too worried here, either. Ghirmai is fairly solid to Texas and I don't see any other schools being in the picture other than UCLA.
Junior Angilau - OT
Angilau is not signing early and as many of you know, he's considering taking a 2-year mission trip. Essentially, this makes him a 2020 recruit and he would only have to sign a financial aid agreement, which is not binding. Most recruits taking mission trips stick to the schools they originally commit to, so we aren't too worried here. It's more a matter of Texas needing immediate help on the OL and missing on JUCO prospects means having to rely on freshmen.
Keondre Coburn - DT
Coburn announced this evening that he will not be signing early and wants to weigh all of his options. As we mentioned for the past several days, this is not surprising. Coburn wants to take all of his official visits. He will likely see places such as Texas A&M, Alabama and FSU. Texas is still the school to beat, but Tom Herman and Oscar Giles need to recruit Coburn like he isn't committed. This recruitment has the possibility of getting very interesting. For now, I will say Coburn sticks with Texas. But you never know in recruiting.
Uncommitted Prospects
Anthony Cook - CB
Cook will be announcing his decision at 3:00 p.m tomorrow on ESPNU. At this point, we'd be surprised if it wasn't Texas. Cook coming into the fold will complete the Houston Lamar pipeline and the greatest secondary class in recent memory.
Dominick Wood-Anderson - TE
This is out of left field, but the former Texas commit is making his choice tomorrow. I don't think it will be Texas, but this kid is so unpredictable. This is the same kid that told Tennessee fans if they got him to 20,000 followers on Twitter he would sign with them on December 20. This is a straight up wild card. Anderson obviously likes Herman and his staff, but was never that solid of a commit. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Mikey Grandy - OL
It seemed fairly certain after Grandy received an offer from the Longhorns that he was headed to Austin. Then the California native received an offer from UCLA. As time continues to press on, we are less optimistic about Grandy signing with Texas. There is always a chance, and Texas needs him in more ways than one. Hopefully Tom Herman can pull another rabbit out of the hat.
Nik Bonitto - OLB
This recruitment has been trending in Texas' favor over the past several days. Rumor has it that Bonitto will sign with the Longhorns tomorrow, but won't announce until January 4 at the Under Armor All-American Game. We will check into that. Regardless, we feel confident about where Texas stands here. Bonitto is a nice contingency to have in case Texas misses on White, and might be why they take his commitment. Bonitto is a good prospect, but will need some work.
