Notre Dame is coming to town!

"Butler's charge will be dropped, is my guess. He's out against Texas anyway, as he has a hurt ankle that is healing up. The others are up a creek. "

Now you are backtracking. Why would Butler's charge be dropped? And since you said he would be kicked out of school what different should that make?

Not backtracking.

There are 2 arrests that are separate last night. One was in front of The Linebacker that included Butler.  He was breaking up a fight between two women and was arrested.

He will not be kicked out of school.

The dudes rolling with marajuana and firearms is a different story.

I don't know what these players are thinking when they throw it all away. Happens all over the place these days.

You might hold your horses on that one. Butler could be facing two felonies, which will cause ND to kick him out of school altogether.

Indeed. It appears that Butler's case is far worse than initial reports let on. I was going from second-hand sources that posted what happened at the 'Backer.

If the dude really took off a cops belt and was tackling cops, he may be lucky that he has a heartbeat right now.

It was ND's darkest weekend that I can remember.

There have been many, Irishfred. Nothing you're going through now is unique to ND. Its happened/happening everywhere. Just not all in one weekend in most cases like yours. Your coach did a stand-up job of dealing with it, too. I tip my hat to him.

you know Fred....you seem to think ND is the most storied school to ever play football.....you even said once...all respect to tOSU, but they are not Notre Dame....well...let me ask you this...Has a sitting President ever gone to one of yalls games and afterwards presented them with a National Championship trophy?...Texas has...just sayin...

It is the most storied program. Haven't you all been paying attention?

I don't know much more than ND will be 10-2 against UT for all-time when the clock strikes Midnight on Sept 5.

All we want is your typical statement game. I'm tired of all this waiting.

Go Irish!

From medical science flub to UT's godsend? Crossed the river with a musket to save UT???

You cannot think of a better narrative! Is this UT's "Rudy" but with an affluent protagonist going to the richest school in the world?

The hype is gaining momentum! Go Irish!
No, definitely won't be our version of Rudy. Buchele will actually get some playing time and play at some meaningful times in the near future. I have already started the movie script on Buchele

though, I will send you a copy once it is complete.

I love the movie Rudy. I really do. I get warm and fuzzy feelings toward Notre Dame from that movie. Its an icon school in America. Touchdown Jesus. There's a coaching line that includes some of the greatest ever. And a history that is both unique and storied. It's also a very beautiful campus.

But on Sunday, while Touchdown Jesus should be observing the Sabbath instead of taking on Texas, none of that first paragraph will matter. It won't matter if God himself shows up in your backfield. We are coming for your heads. We will take no prisoners. And if need be, we'll exact revenge for Jacob (who wrestled with God and lost in the OT).

The Bible shows us that God deals with mankind in different ways through time. There are dispensations of innocence, of law, and presently, of grace.

The same holds true with football. The era is changing. A new sun is rising. And it's another version of "snot flew" that DKR once referred to.

Texas 28

Notre Dame 14

Texas scores two defensive/ST touchdowns. Austin goes friggin wild. Notre Dame's season is ruined before it starts.
