Monday Press Conference Thread

Dickson on how he started punting: "There's a sport in Australia called Australian Rules Football. It's a mixture of different things. Lots of punting involved. There's a skill involved that transfers over to American football."

Dickson on Ray Guy award: "It would mean a lot [to win it]. Most punters already believe they are the best, otherwise why else would you practice? I feel like I'm the best. If I don't win it, I'm just going to keep working."

Dickson: "When I first started doing it, my friends were shocked. They didn't realize the stage it was on. A lot of them get to watch my games, even though they are at weird times over there. They see the crowds and think it's insane."

Dickson: "I'm just glad I can help the team out. That's been the best feeling this year. Flipping the field feels good."

Dickson on election: "I never really got involved in politics. It was interesting. I didn't really know much about it, but it was an interesting experience to see what effect it took on my teammates."

Bonney: "This week we have to stay focused. We have to have a good week of practice. Can't take anybody lightly. Each team gives us 100%."

Bonney on secondary improvement: "We still have work to do. As a group, our confidence has gone up tremendously. We don't have many balls going over our head, but our main thing is having that confidence."

Bonney: "It's college football. To play it, you have to be good. They won't lay down for us because we're Texas."

Bonney mentions Kansas almost beating TCU this year and last. This team knows they can't play lightly.

Bonney: "The whole defensive staff deserves the credit. We as players were tired of the criticism. Of late we've shown people that we can stop people from scoring and hold teams under their average for points per game."

Bonney on close games: "It takes a lot of focus. You have to be on point with everything you do. The main thing is finishing."

That's it for media availability. Texas takes on Kansas at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Texas is currently a 22.5 point favorite.

Thank you Harrison. I never watch the PC so this recap is great!
