The Powerbrokers have requested the resignation preferably by Tuesday and no later than Thursday.

The only reason Brown and Powers would delay the resignation is to hurt our chances with Saban. Neither is on board with the hire.

The Powerbrokers even sweetened the severance package for Brown so, he would step away nicely.

Hot damn. Let's get this party started!

McP, how will Powers not being on board affect the hire in your opinion or are you hearing anything on that, or is it not a decision he will solely make?

The power brokers need to tell Powers to stand down or we need to fire his ass too

Curious. They (Mack and Powers) would rather hurt the program even further than man up and do what's best for the program now?

Is this what Mack Brown's legacy has come down to?

Instead of giving him a gold watch or a statue perhaps someone should just give him a pacifier.

Hook'em!

Nice. Thanks for keeping us posted. This gonna be a long few days. Ready for him to do it today.

I sure hope this don't turn ugly, with Mack.

I like Powers and think he's done a very good job as President. But he needs to let the people who make decisions make this decision. Just because he is friends with Mack doesn't mean he needs to stand in the way of progress. Someone needs to show him the 60 minutes piece and let him talk to Robert Witt.

This statement concerns me greatly. Brown should not be involved at all and Powers should defer to Patterson.

Agreed. I know the BMD's are supposedly in charge of the search and all that but damn, aren't we paying Patterson 7 figures to run the athletic department? Let him do his job.

Regent Hicks is steering this show.

In S. Hicks I Trust.

I have a serious issue with presidents being involved in athletics.

You want to know why the NCAA is a cheating mess? You want to know why the NCAA is a laughingstock of an organization?

It is because it is run by the presidents who have not one clue about athletics.

Look, that's not a knock on Bill Powers; that's a knock on the way the system is structured.

I'm beating a dead horse, but once again, I continue to argue that there needs to be a complete restructuring of the Organizational Flow Chart of not only the NCAA but the University ADs themselves.

There should be a coach, who answers to an AD, who answers to a GM, who answers to the BOR. The GM would have various specialized members of senior management.

This isn't rocket science. With UT-Austin representing the pinnacle of big business college athletics, it is time they step up and LEAD the way.
