I'm Hearing

If Brown and Powers have the ability to delay, where is Jamail on a resignation happening this week or at all?

BTW...you do know that the NCAA doesn't allow resignations on Tuesdays or Thursdays in months with the letter D in them, don't you?

Thanks McPhaul. Sounds like Jesus thinks Powers may kill Saban to Texas. If that's true it's depressing we have leadership that doesn't crave winning in football as much as we do.

The power brokers need to tell Powers to stand down or we need to fire his ass too
Powers has been a great President for our University. His job entails a lot more than overseeing the football program.

If it was a choice btw Powers/Saban, I'd take Powers.

McPhaul any word on how the offer was received by Mack?
Mack is not happy. Powers is not happy. They both understand that it is over but, they have us by the ying yang here. We can't fire Powers over a football coach. Texas does not operate in the fashion. Brown has a contract until 2020. If he makes us fire him then his severance will be cut.

Timing is now critical concerning the Saban hire.

The Powerbrokers have requested the resignation preferably by Tuesday and no later than Thursday.
The only reason Brown and Powers would delay the resignation is to hurt our chances with Saban. Neither is on board with the hire.

The Powerbrokers even sweetened the severance package for Brown so, he would step away nicely.
MB is a hired employee and should have no say in who will be the next Texas coach. This power play by MB is not good for Texas. My friends y'all have a great day.

Powers will be stepping down within six months to a year. Saban would be with us for a 6-10 years. Not sure supporting Powers is the best for our program.

Buyouts are the contract parachute. Mack knows this. At will employment. Make the retirement search now Mack because " it's not fun anymore" for you or any of us.

Mack has asked Jamail to stand down.

I use to have respect for Powers but he is being a bitch. Where the F is Abbott? isnt he suppose to be able to manipulate Powers?

Why the F doesnt Mack realize that he is a bad Fing coach? I dont want JJs $150 million, we are going to lose that much if Mack comes back another year.

"MONDAY, IF YOU DONT RESIGN BY MONDAY, I AM GOING TO ESPN AND TELL THEM YOU ARE FIRED" - thats the only thing Patterson needs to hand write on a piece of paper and send to Mack's office.

Agreed. Even if he is rumored to be stepping down soon, we need him now more than ever. At least until silck rick is out of office.

Mack has asked Jamail to stand down.
if that is the case, i want ESPN to scroll tonight that Mack has resigned. no need to wait till banquet.

Mack knows that him delaying will hurt Saban to Texas and Mack does not want that bc Mack Brown knows that Saban can turn this shit around in 1-2 years and is 100x the coach Mack is currently. IF Saban comes in and wins Big12 with 11-1 record everyone will know Mack is to blame for the past 4 years.

If they both understand that it's over, why are they both holding on?

If Mack don't end this charade soon, he is going to start losing a great deal of respect. Not that he hadn't already.

Agreed. I know the BMD's are supposedly in charge of the search and all that but damn, aren't we paying Patterson 7 figures to run the athletic department? Let him do his job.
Powers has made it very clear to Patterson that it is not his decision. Don't blame Patterson. He is caught in the middle.

Now you may know why Luck had some questions pertaining having this all cleared up so, he would not be caught in the middle.

It's not about the football program. It's about The University of Texas at Austin. As badly as I want a winning football program at Texas, the school is bigger than athletics and it's not even close.

Exactly

This is some bullshit.

I would choose Larry Fedora over Powers but by doing what Powers is, he is showing us that his relationship with Mack is more important that what is best for The University of Texas.
