Texas beats South Alabama 84-77 to improve to 2-0 on the season. Texas had some decent #'s from its starters.

Johnathan Holmes led all scorers with 23 points (and 9 rebounds).

Id have to credit South Alabama letting up more than anything else. They had the game won and took their foot off the gas.

Still, very close to 0-2 and yet they are 2-0

nobody ever showed up to the JV games... thats what we have. it has to hurt the eyes to see that Texas team and then switch over to the slate that was on espn. we are so far behind.

I put this on the shoulders of Dodds and Barnes. It's painful to be a Texas Longhorn Basketball fan. You know that every year, despite the amount of talent in this State, that you aren't going to see anything more than a mediocre squad. And given how long the program has been in despair, it's unbelievable that something hasn't been done about it yet. This level of attendance hasn't always been the case, it's been a trend that has been growing over the past few years. It's gotten to the point where people are treating Texas Longhorn basketball like some choose to treat Dallas Cowboys football. It's the "we're not going to physically support this product until you've shown a willingness to better the product" mindset. Quite frankly, I can't blame them.
