Hey everyone I come seeking help. I am coming from Georgia to experience a Texas Longhorns game for usc this season. we have booked room at Hilton garden downtown and have rsvped at la barbecue and also going to try and book franklins. Now all we need is information for tickets and tailgates pregame etc. or any other bars to hit around campus. Can anyone give me intel about what to expect ticket wise? We can get some nose bleeds to 160 on stubhub now would it be better to wait? What is Longhorns ticket market usually like? I am an Alabama grad but have no intel about Texas games. Please help me anyway you can to improve my experience for Texas at usc hook em horns

You really need to follow through with that Franklins thing. As good as the game will be, it is better than that. lol

MBHorns has a tailgate. He should be along to debrief you on that.

As for tickets, you could try and ask on some message boards, such as this one and others like it. Many times good seats are found that way.

You're wise to nail all this down early. It will be a big weekend in Austin. Get tickets while you can.

In fact, you could tell everyone you came to Austin to visit Franklins and caught a Texas game while in town. No one would think anything of it. lol

Unless something has changed you can't book Franklin's.

Hit the line up early like 8am early. Bring some beers and enjoy the atmosphere. Meeting people from all over the world in the line is half the attraction

They have online booking we’re going to try and do it that way

Do you think we should get season tickets for 229 bucks and just sell the other games? The tickets are upper level but atleast we’d be taken care of

Welcome to Austin, Texas, Brycey!  Hope you have a good time, good food, and enjoy a great game with us!

Friend, I don't feel comfortable telling you to do that. It could be a lot easier than we're making it out to be. Or not. I guess I'm saying I'm not the one to ask.

I've watched a game upper level and seen many more on the lower level. IMO, there's no comparison unless you get the middle/bottom which has a decent view. The upper level is also vertically enhanced. lol I'm scared of heights so that bothered me.

Based on prices on stubhub right now the lower level looks to be a lot more than we wanted to spend on tickets

Ahhhh you are doing takeaway.

If you're limited for time and that's the only way you can do it then sure, but you are robbing yourself of part of the experience

Yea won’t fly in until it would be too late to go do the long line

I've had tickets for 30+ years and I used to sit way up high so I agree with Sir, get the lower level seats if you can.

You can always chance it and try buying from scalpers just before the game. Just print out a seating chart to be sure you know what you're buying.

I got screwed by fake tickets at national title 2 years ago so I plan to buy from legit source before arriving for game just can’t handle the anxiety with scalping anymore

Understand your feelings towards scalpers . Sorry I missed your statement where you were ripped off by one.

Regarding steak places downtown, I'd recommend this place:  https://alcsteaks.com/

When you're done with your steak, walk over to The Tavern, https://tavernaustin.com/  , get a cold beer or 3 and watch some games on their many TVs. They also have good burgers but by then, you will be full.

Good luck and welcome to Texas!
