*****GAME THREAD - TCU @ #9 Texas*****

hahaha....your rose colored glasses are way to rosey. I'm a fan but i will damn sure tell it like it is.....
According to your over rated opinion of yourself. <insert rolling of my eyes emoticon>

Urban Meyer is not coming! There is a cancer in Austin, doesn't seem to matter who is coaching there. its going to take a special coach, needs to be someone tough on the kids and very demanding. I don't see that in Herman. Saban is demanding of his kids, thats a known fact, who else? Patterson is pretty demanding, i see him get in some ass on the sidelines. I swear, all we hire are coaches that look like they just walked off the golf course. Meyer is demanding too, ive seen it, my gut tells me hes not interested in rebuilding another program he has not connection too. Hes already coached at his dream school ...... and left it, hes won several national championships, why come here? he doesn't need the money.
Urban Meyer is a coaching addict. He would come running if Texas called. He was forced out of his dream school because he's such a lying piece of shit.

I don't think so but I mean i could be wrong. Saban didn't leave Alabama. We can make all the excuses we want ultimately, the money didn't bring him here.

You say you’re a fan & have been for so long. Maybe go look at the facts of that at the time. It wasn’t about the money.

I honestly don't know that its the coach as much as it may be factors inside the University. Herman whooped everyone at Houston, OU, Florida st. when they were good. Only lost when the QB went down with injury. Is there some input from the powers that be inside the University that may handicap the coach from being 100% himself? it just seems like there is a cancer in Austin, i mean how much greater talent do we need to win a conference?

At the end of the day, the buck stops with the head coach, and Tom Cat isn’t getting it done. Every year it’s more of the same BS. The last two weeks, I’ve seen an over abundance of poor coaching, preparation and play calling.

We play a nine-game schedule this year and I believe a 6-3 record will give Herman another year. A 4-5 record would probably get him fired and I'm not sure about going 5-4. I think Herman could get the benefit of doubt because of Covid and all the money UT has lost.

Let's say Herman is fired after the season then the name that everyone is talking about is Urban Meyer. If your Chris Del Conte are you going to want to hire a coach who lied and embarrassed his last AD. This is also the second time this has happened. Mike Bohn at USC could have hired him last year, but did not want him.

If we were to fire Herman after this season then the guy at the top of my list would be PJ Fleck. He had 1-win season his first year at Western Michigan and in year 4 they were 13-1 and in the Cotton Bowl.

He went to Minnesota and his first year he was 5-7 and then last year in year three Minnesota was 11-2.and he was the Big 10 coach of the year. I have followed college football since the 60's and the University of Minnesota has done nothing until Fleck got there.

PJ also seems like a good guy and players coach and would seem be a good fit at UT and he will be 40 next year which means he would be around for a while.

I do like PJ Fleck. I had my eye on Mark Dantonio till this year, i thought he did alot more with less and the last coach that moved south from there has done pretty well and Mark did alot better than that guy.

I am looking forward to Aaron's report card on today's performance

I know everyone is pissed and wants Herman's head on a stick , but there is lots of blame to be spread all around the place....

This team got distracted  by all the off the field antics and the fuss about athletes opting out, not wanting to sing , and players quitting in the middle of a game....THOSE are NOT the trademarks of a National Championship team. They dont tackle as a team , they make stupid mistakes including penalties, they dont seem to play for each other...RB by committee isn't the answer, never has been except in the wishbone days...This team seems to lack a defensive leader, a linebacker stud that is in on every play, the gap they left on the QB draw up the middle was such a blown defensive formation I could see it from home

Herman is not the problem....he may not be the answer but he certainly isn't the problem, the winning culture isn't quite there yet
I couldn’t disagree with you more.  The right coach makes a huge impact and usually very quickly.  He runs everything football related.... he recruits his players and hires his assistant coaches.

One responsibility CTH does well is recruit... and that makes the on the field failures seem even worse.  This team is dreadfully prepared in most aspects of the game.  A personal pet peeve of mine is - it’s been 4 years and we can’t seem to master when to catch a punt and when not to.
