This sucks for those of us who don't have LHN

That's good and maybe there will be some movement on the LHN. I seem to remember Mack saying a while back that three games would be on the LHN.

It's not going to move enough people to get them to act right. This is a fan irritation more than anything else. I'm not changing my cable for two games. It's just stupid even though I get the reason for the stall. These are business decisions that look 20 years in the future. Problem is that is won't help me during the first two games of the season.

We knew that this will happen when LHN started. It suck for 3 years, after that Texas needs to tell ESPN that this is not fair to our fans.

There are some of us that would love to dvr and re-watch every play of the Wyoming and NMSt games but in reality most Texas fans will tune out in the 3rd Q when we are up by 28. Sure some will watch to see the freshman but the majority of fans wont care.

Get to the stadium yell b4 the actual kickoff then those fans have the right to say something.

I love Texas but Longhorn fans need to visit some other teams are realize that our game day environment could be and needs to be better. Then we can complain that we are not getting to watch a 1-11 New Mexico St team. and i dont get LHN either and i dont live in Austin.

Lame. As usual Ill be tuned in to 98.1 KVET hearing Craig Way rock the house

I agree wholeheartedly with the Contractor. We need to crank it up a notch at DKR. Go to tiger stadium in baton rouge on a Saturday night...

Still think there needs to be a concession made on the part of ESPN and the cable companies. If both sides gave a little it would be much more manageable.

Heck, the LHN is showing little league baseball games now.

To clarify, i dont like that we dont get to see the games either. Per the contract only 1 game needs to be on LHN per year but Texas as agreed to put a 2nd game at ESPNs request. I assume UT got more money, on top of the base contract of 15 million, to me that shows too much greed by DeLoss. Why do more than what is required unless Espn is going to do more for us.

Espn is asking way too much from networks, i can understand networks not paying that much. Rumors are Espn is asking .90 cents or more per subscriber and the networks are offer mid .20cents.

bbdude, i agree, i have been to tiger stadium almost once a year since the early 80s. Its a different environment, granted they have nothing else to do but we dont compare as a game day environment. We need to care as a fan base enough to show up before kickoff and stay loud throughout the game.

I did a focus group with U-Verse and although it was not on the agenda they asked if we had any questions for them? I was the first one with my hand up and asked why they didn't carry the LHN? I was told that football is the reason and they needed more Longhorn games to be able to sell it to their customers.

Then there was this bit from an article in May of 2012..

Dodds said he realizes there will be mass outrage if LHN doesn't have carriers in time for those 3 games. "But the pain is worth the gain."
Goes along with what I was told by U-Verse.

It doesn't take a lot of effort to find a quais-legal stream on gameday to watch online somewhere. I have no qualms about doing it, considering the sums I have paid the university over the years.

Someone usually posts a link here on the boards. It's almost here. The season is imminent!!!"

The Longhorn Network is probably the single greatest divider in the state of Texas. I mean let's look at this objectively.

Everytime it is brought up, it stirs controversy. I mean the story about Tech being on the LHN got Tech all mad and then Aggies started to say thats big bad Texas yet this wasnt even Texas's doing. It was a Tech administrator fearing that ESPN would put the game on that network. But got to remind people who the bad guy is all the time apparently.

Chris it just gives the Longhorn haters a reason to hate. If it wasn't this it would be something else.

The Aggies tried to destroy the Big XII in their hatred for Texas and now they are whining because Texas won't play them in any sport.

Don't even get me started on Texas Tech. They are the luckiest assholes in the world. Nobody gives a shit about Tech. Only politics kept them in the conference with the big boys.

Oh I agree, Haters are going to hate. That's what they do but while there are lots of Longhorn fans, there are more fans of other teams that would create a huge shitstorm for the first major carrier that picks it up. I think ESPN will probably try to get a majority of major carriers to sign on at once to create less backlash.

That's an interesting thought and one I can see happening. The problem to me is ESPN trying to make the LHN a premium channel. They could have done a Big XII Network, like the Big Ten Network and put all the Texas games on it they wanted.

No matter how they spin the network it has been a disaster. It seems everyone is upset and the funny thing is I have no idea why anyone other than Longhorn fans cares. I mean no one carries the channel so I don't see how anyone is at a disadvantage. The money thing is a non issue because Texas has always had a money advantage.

I agree, no one else needs to complain bc it doesnt effect them. Other fans want to complain just to complain against Texas. I can understand if a TT game is actually going to be shown on LHN but it isnt. Agges have a degree in complaining so thats understandable but other than that i feel people, both Texas fans and all fans are confusing Espn with Texas. That i feel is the one thing Belmont hasnt done well, to separate the entities. People think bc Espn wants more $ and wont budge that it is the university and DeLoss fault. That the greed is coming from Texas when in fact it is coming from Espn.

The requirement is 1 game a year on LHN, when Belmont decides to put a second game on LHN that is where the greed really is by Belmont. I hope Belmont is thinking that we need to make this sacrifice early, in year 1 and 2 and maybe 3, but not after that. If it is not picked up after next year than we will only put the agreed uppon 1 game per year on LHN and Espn needs to get the contract done without Texas helping them out.

It is frustrating for us Longhorn fans but stay patient, make the calls to networks and one day, hopefully soon, switch over to the carrier that carries LHN. If things do go right, it gives our university a huge advantage. But remember people are going to complain against us no matter what.
