Colt in better days
Colt McCoy was not horrible last season in Cleveland. In 13 games completed 57% of his passes, threw for 2700 yards with 14 td's and 11 picks. He was also under constant pressure with 32 sacks. Colt's time in Cleveland has been summed up by trying to play QB with no offensive line and inexperienced wide receivers.
Colt was also "blessed" with two very average, at best, wide receivers. Joshua Cribbs was a QB at Kent State and Greg Little was a RB for North Carolina-Chappel Hill who coverted to a WR and then got hurt.
but...what Colt really faces is observations like this:
Tuesday, after a week of training camp, head coach Pat Shumur named Weeden the starting QB and I guess the Browns are shoe ins for the Super Bowl.
Colt responded by saying the competition was not a competition after all.

His arm stands out as the strongest and most accurate of the quarterbacks on the Browns roster. He can reach any part of the field with his arm. The ability to make all the throws has shown up in camp with his deep accuracy on the long ball and his touch on screen passes to Trent Richardson.
The skills he has displayed should allow offensive coordinator Brad Childress the ability to use the entire playbook.
The above quotes were about first round draft pick Brandon Weeden. This from the Cleveland media after "TWO" practices in training camp. Damn stop the presses, we have a scoop, Brandon Weeden has been crowned "Greatest QB in Cleveland Browns History."Weeden has also displayed the ability to handle the mental grind of learning the West Coast offense by coming back to the next practice and correcting previous mistakes.

Colt has never gotten a fair shake in Cleveland. As a rookie the media was all over Colt. He had no arm strength, didn't know the offense and was the most likely to be cut. In his two years he has two head coaches, no wide receivers, a porous offensive line and a media that thinks the Browns are one QB away from competing for the playoffs. He deserved better."I would like to say that I haven't taken any snaps in walk-through or in practice with the first group," said McCoy, who wasn't even declared the No. 2 quarterback by Shurmur. "I've come out here and made myself better with the reps I've got and I feel really good and really healthy and I look forward to some preseason games coming up pretty quick."
