Brown

Any scenario where he does return makes me sick. I hate his guts.

He was so afraid a real coach would win with his recruits and expose hime for the fraud that he is.

Go Oregon. Hope you hang 85 points on him.

I'm not convinced Mack will be returning.
I can't see how he does. About to need a staff. Recruits wanting to decommit. He's on the recruiting trail while the world speaks of his exit, a fan base that is convinced the game has passed him by. If UT were to go along with another year - it would be a monumental mistake of proportions that would take a decade to recover from.

IMO, the decision makers at UT are just smarter than that.

I'm not convinced either. Sally and mack didnt look happy all night and if it's settled and he's staying i don't know why everyone is still no commenting the situation. It would have made sense to tell the world tonight and end this mess if that were true

If the whole agreement for Mack to retire was mucked up by the internet reports and the threat of Saban coming, could it be that the BMDs and Patterson reversed the scenario and used the internet to get reports out that Mack was in fact returning and then when he leaves it will appear to be all his doings. Saban may be gone, but does anyone know what the buyout on his new contract is, if he did in fact sign it?

I'm not convinced the decision makers are in fact smarter than that, based on the fact that they've allowed Mack to wield this much power all week.

But I agree that if he were going to stay then something more definitive would have been said tonight. I think the SOB will announce retirement on Sunday or Monday now that Saban is gone.

I'm not convinced Mack will be returning.
Oh, my God, give it a rest. You aren't convinced of anything. Mack is coming back. Your "inside source" has been playing you.

The "inside source" everyone has been relying on has been identified. It's all been about reading the hand signals

I'm in the camp that doesn't think he will be back.

Why not just announce at the banquet. He's the last speaker. If he's coming back that was set up perfectly for him to announce he wasn't going anywhere and he'd be back coaching the Horns in 2014. Yet there was nothing. Something doesn't add up here.

Also Burton's report is Mack will remain as HC. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be the HC in 2014. With all the talk that Texas won't go long without a HC, I think they are moving on to the next candidates and until they have their guy, there won't be any retirement announcement.

guys, some of you are just obnoxious. McPhaul backed off on the "100%" claim days ago and has even said he wouldn't use that sort of language ever again. cut the guy some slack!
