I think we have seen some of this, players entering the portal to reset their NIL market but potentially returning to their current school. This is the most outspoken example though, for sure. I don't think the NCAA has any avenue (or desire) to curb this type of action though. 

Some guiderails for NIL woulda been a good idea but alas, the NCAA is so worried about litigation now they are just going to sit on their hands.

It isn’t that they are avoiding litigation, the NCAA already lost. Last year or the year before the Supreme Court ruled the NCAA could no longer restrict the income of a student athlete. That’s how the NIL came about.

I didn't realize that Nebraska had that kind of NIL money. I guess they're also trying to outbid Texas for Mathis. I  also read that Mathis is considering staying at TCU. Maybe he's doing the same as Wong.

Casey Thompson did say the NIL possible deals were better at Nebraska than at Texas.  We all laughed it off but maybe there is some truth there. We all know Texas can come with more money than Nebraska but maybe they aren’t doing it. Nebraska has a huge fan base……maybe they’re working it better than Texas.  We don’t really know.  
I mean not much surprises me nowadays but it will be fairly shocking if Nebraska gets him. Considering he is from Texas and we have Patterson on the staff.  Especially since Nebraska hasn’t been a picture of winning lately and who knows when they’ll get back to winning.  Frost was nearly fired last year, but I think they let him fire alot of his staff and I believe they actually cut his pay if I remember correctly.
