What is the biggest thing holding Texas back from paying recruits same as A&M does? Like how do we have to set it up that we are refusing to do?

I think the biggest question mark is where the money is coming from. Texas and OU have set up various legit NIL deals for the roster. Some players are give additional NIL deals from companies. The A&M problem is there are no deals in place that I’ve seen. Players are just being given hundreds of thousands of dollars to commit. I think that’s why the NCAA is looking further into some of these deals.

The entire concept of "brand" doesn't carry weight anymore. W's on the field and NIL is how the war will be won. Currently, Texas is losing on both.
Wow, if true and we got out bid by Nebraska. This plus aggy allegedly out bidding us shows that we are no longer the Joneses, or at least not acting like it.

I would think he would have a better chance to showcase his talent at TX and that would be a big factor. I'm hoping that BMDs somehow swoop in and sway him to Texas.

Subtract Thomas, Harrison and Dixon, I've got 85 on the dot.
I haven't heard anything about Hookfin,  but the rumor is he is done, it seems like he may end up with a medical scholarship in which case he wouldn't enter the portal or count against the 85 limit.
