Recruiting bores me.
Then why are you on the 2022 Recruiting Board/Thread?  The title pretty much gives away that the topic of discussion is going to be recruiting, do you typically spend your “me time” reading things that bore you?  Macroeconomics bores the hell out of me so I don’t read, watch or discuss anything that relates to it and, thus, avoid the boredom that subject inflicts. You should try it…

Do not know about thier ratings but after six years not much improvementin someof them.
agreed. That is why I do not understand why some are panting over that Wisconsin center that has already been at Wisconsin FIVE YEARS!...Let go be Okafor somewhere else....

You might be right on that one. There are some issues that make you go hmmm.

He took a redshirt early, then took advantage of the covid year.

He played and started two years at Wisky. And Wisky doesn't recruit slouch OLs and they develop who they get.

You forgot to post part of my response. I summarized my feelings on the subject. Here again:

If you are a team that hasn't been in the college football playoff's ever, and haven't won a conference or national title in more than a decade, you are not going to get the pick of the litter. Especially if you are currently losing. Recruits want to be in the spotlight so the NFL will notice, that takes a winning team.

The last time Texas did anything worth mentioning was the 2019 Sugar Bowl. That's not enough, see above.

So since we're not a winning program now, we won't be ever. I mean, like you said, we'll never have the recruits, so logically we'll never win and thus never have a spotlight.

Just trying to understand here.

We have plenty of talent. Always have and always will. Excuses.

Bill Snyder made Lemonade.

IT was out at Galena Park North Shore this week, and surprisingly Alabama is no longer thought to be the favorite of CB Denver Harris according to several people in that program.

It's now split between LSU and Texas, with a thought that Harris may prefer LSU due to his favorite position coach "by far" being Corey Raymond.

However, Texas remains a constant because of how well they've done with his mother.

LSU's new hire will be a big factor down the stretch.

Not my argument, and haven’t read much of it but I’d like to interject if I may.

im referring strictly to OL at the moment too, so keep that in mind.  I can kinda see what he’s saying.  Until you win on the big stages (RRS) and don’t soil the sheets at home (OkSt) you’re not going to draw the big time guys that we need to take the next step.  The biggest need is OL.  What are we struggling to recruit, OL.  This game is won/lost in the trenches.  When your hopes are on a 6th year guy finally having the light bulb turn on, you’ve got problems.

IT saying WR Evan Stewart is working to graduate in December and be an early enrollee at the college of his choice.

This has evolved into an A&M vs. Texas battle, and Stewart will return to College Station for the Auburn game next weekend.

Stewart's mindset right now appears to be deciding between the better offensive fit and a school (Texas) that's been a constant in his recruitment, versus a school (A&M) that just beat Alabama and seems closer to championship contention.

Apparently Jimbo's offense and lack of WR involvement isn't a deal-breaker for Stewart since he's being sold as the vital missing piece.

Two more recruiting notes from IT...

-there are two '22 prospects committed elsewhere who have applied to UT, they've been very receptive to the new staff and could visit Austin for a game in November. That doesn't include QB Devin Brown of Draper, UT who will officially visit for the Kansas game on November 13th.

-speaking of Brown, Sark is becoming more determined to sign a second QB this cycle, whether that's a high school player or even bringing in a player via the portal who could compete for the starting job.

Bill Snyder had good OL’s too though.
Bill was special. Somehow starting from scratch, he became a hall of fame coach recruiting players to play football in Manhattan Kansas, right next to Dorothy's house near Bumf**k Egypt. Please don't try to convince me how hard recruiting at UT in Austin is.

"Kansas State had a cumulative record of 299–510 (.370) in 93 years of play, which was easily the most losses of any team in Division I-A at the time. The school had been to only one bowl game (the 1982 Independence Bowl), had not won a conference title since 1934 and had enjoyed four winning seasons in the previous 44 years (including two in the previous 34 years). The program had also not won a game since October 26, 1986, going 0–26–1 in that time.

During the 1998 season, Kansas State posted an undefeated 11–0 regular season and earned its first number 1 ranking in the national polls, just ten years after being named the worst program in the country by Sports Illustrated

Hall of Fame football coach Barry Switzer once stated, "He's not the coach of the year, he's not the coach of the decade, he's the coach of the century."[12]"
