I trust Sark’s decision on WR but I don’t know if I would add a WR out of the portal. We know what Worthy and Whittington are. Johntay is ready day 1 and probably Moore too. Thompson is still a guy……..10.12 doesn’t come around very often. Neyor if he comes back fully healthy should be a guy. Savion, Cain. It’d have to be a hell of a receiver to want to take out of the portal. I mean a starter. We don’t need a depth guy. 

I suspect they're making sure they get the high schoolers they're anticipating before signing a portal guy. The exception would if they know for sure they're going to need a portal guy even if they land all the high schoolers they expect.

Nahlin at IT said today he'd bet big money Texas signs a portal WR for spring ball, and maybe a second depending on who else enters.

Coyote – All those guys you mentioned, they are indeed excellent WRs. But they're all below say 6'0. 

Neyor I think is 6'2 or 6'3, but we don't know what he'll be like coming off his injury. 

I think staff is looking for an experienced WR with some height/size.

I've heard Cain will enter the portal.

Wasn’t Neyors injury an ACL ? If so, usually guys come back from that successfully.

Yeah Sark seems to like these smaller bodied receivers with blazing speed. I like a bigger bodied receiver against a smaller cornerback. I’ll go with what Sark thinks rather than what I think. Really we have alot of talent out there and I could see them bringing a portal in until these guys coming out of high are ready. It would have to be the exact right guy or i don’t think I would do it. I don’t want to take reps away from the guys coming in because these aren’t your ordinary high kids. They should see the field soon. Johntay, Moore those are high level guys. A lot of potential in that room.

BAMAs RB this year portaled from Georgia Tech.   He was really good.  I’m sure there will be several other exceptions….. But I get your point. 

Russell Wilson and Justin Fields… though not modern day portal, we’re highly successful transfers.

Drew Sanders did well at Arkansas and Jordan Addison did well at USC to name two off the top of my head.

Drew Sanders was named all-america at Arkansas after transfer from Bama. Joe Burrow certainly did well from the portal. We're hoping Quinn does the same.

Yes, a bunch of the portal players are guys who weren't seeing much playing time for whatever reason and are looking to get on the field. However, there are always several guys that are on mediocre or poor teams who have demonstrated that they may be able to compete with the big dogs and want a shot to prove themselves. Those relatively few portal guys are the ones a program like Texas is after.

I just want 1-2 guys on our roster who are 6’2” or higher, 220-230lbs with 4.5 speed and a 38”+ vertical to catch the types of throws these smaller burner types can’t.  Basically a Roy Williams clone.  Neyor should be able to do that but we need one more as insurance.   Troy Omeire or Agiye Hall could’ve been those guys but they are gone.   Sanders is great at a TE but just need one more of these guys to line up opposite Worthy.

Roy Williams was so good.  It's too bad he didn't end up as a better pro, but he was such a beast in college.

He was a beast and still very much under-utilized while at Texas.   He was unstoppable yet didn’t always get priority in the O.
