Wasn’t Gideon hired for ST?Sark gets it, BMD's need to stay the HELL out of his way!
Banks AHC/STC/TE is huge! It's a million dollar hire that should prove worthy of every penny spent!

With Orlando, I could look out and see 1 DL on the field at times. 4-2-5 / 3-3-5.... doesn’t make that much difference to me. But need we re-invent the wheel? Texas should be able to line up and whip the guy in front of them without relying almost exclusively on trickery and deception.I’d love to see how a 3-3-5 could be aligned differently?
I don’t care where they dial up pressure from I want 4 big guys with their hand in the dirt. If that’s how Arnett aligns his 3-3-5 I’ll be fine.
Per Ian Boyd, the 3 defensive linemen alignment has to do where the DEs line up, i.e., inside tackle or outside tacklers shoulders. Also has to do with gap control. Orlando had DE cover 2 gaps, which was to utulize linebackers to clean up, whereas other teams could use DE to rush outside and have less gap control. Per Ian Boyd, the 3 man alignment allows to use another player for pass coverage with today's offenses. Think Iowa State vs Orlando's scheming. The only thing in common of the above example is there are 3 defensive lineman. After that, the similarities differ. I'm only pointing out there is a difference in the use of 3 down alignment, not advocating for/against 3 or 4 man defensive alignment. Personally I don't care if Sark uses the old 5-3 as long as he wins championships..and beats the hell out of blow U.I’d love to see how a 3-3-5 could be aligned differently?

Yes, but it's not totally clear what his responsibilities will be at this point.Wasn’t Gideon hired for ST?
Good. We don't have to worry about losing any recruits on the west coast...OrangeBloods saying Herb Hand has been hired by USC.
They both run a base 3-3-5. You can line the DE inside, outside, or head up. Personnel wise you better have good LB’s and lock down corners.Per Ian Boyd, the 3 defensive linemen alignment has to do where the DEs line up, i.e., inside tackle or outside tacklers shoulders. He was at Miss St. We should be talking about Leach's offense. But what we keep hearing is what a defense they had. Its tough to take the spotlight from Leach, but Arnett did.So how are we feeling about Arnett since he’s so fresh to DC?
Sark should target every 4 and 5-star OL on the west coast then. It will be easy to beat Hand, that much we know.OrangeBloods saying Herb Hand has been hired by USC.
Agree. Arnett regularly spins down into 4-down defenses. His D is really mostly about having flexibility to check an offensive strength. You guys need to watch Mississippi State film from this past season. Lots of defense with 4 men on the LOS.
Target every 4 or 5 star between the east and west coast......and Hawaii, Alaska, Samoa, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Australia........there.Sark should target every 4 and 5-star OL on the west coast then. It will be easy to beat Hand, that much we know.
I agree 100%. The only way a 3 man line works against the passing game is if you're running the old 3-4 with one of the outside backers up on the line. They both run a base 3-3-5. You can line the DE inside, outside, or head up. Personnel wise you better have good LB’s and lock down corners.
I’m a believer in taking away time and space with your defense. I just feel having four 280 lbs cats up front applying pressure causes more problems than 200 lbs DB’s blitzing. Occupy the 5 O -lineman and QB’s get nervous.
I’m sure the 3-3-5 works but it hasn’t for us.
So he plays a defense with multiple fronts. That sounds much better than base 3-3-5. ?Agree. Arnett regularly spins down into 4-down defenses. His D is really mostly about having flexibility to check an offensive strength.
