Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I’ve never seen a 5* player say they chose a school/team because they change up uniforms from time to time.   Build a program right and there’s no need for gimmicks.  And I’m neither an alum nor old

there won't be any player that picks a school because they have alternate game uniforms, 5* or whatever.  if there is, then their priorities aren't right.

Then why change a great classic look?

recruiting and alternate game uniforms are independent of each other.  seems like you're implying that they are connected and that the only reason we would offer alternate game uniforms is to appease recruits.

there are other reasons to change up uniforms on certain occasions.  perhaps the current players and coaches want a new fresh look on certain occasions.  i know the majority of the folks in this forum don't like the idea.  but that's only a fraction of the UT base.  CDC should poll the players/coaches/students/alumni and fanbase.  i wonder what the results would be...

Change the longhorn logo every once in a while for a fresh one.  Change the mascot to something totally different. UT could be the fighting skunks. Keep changing on a regular schedule so no one gets bored. Stadium could yell black white back and forth.................................Change for the sake of change is a bad idea.

The only implications made are people saying alternate unis would help.  I don’t think they’d make a difference in anything, especially recruiting as the kids I hope Texas lands wouldn’t be swayed by something so silly

I have voted hell no. Don’t need no stinkin’ poll.

According to the Brainiacs, Moro Ojomo suffered a leg/ankle injury in bowl practice. Injury was so severe they had to take him to the hospital.

Alvonte Woodard broke his collarbone in a collision during practice.
Collarbone is usually a 6 week recovery.
