Welcome Aboard!
I'd like to begin this one by giving a great, big shout out to all the various Longhorns websites and even people like the Dallas Morning News for turning their attention to the status and achievements of our Texas verbal pledges as the season goes on. When Aaron let me begin this a few years ago, I did it because no one else was doing it. There was a real deficiency of that information for Longhorns fans. And now, there is not. Everybody is keeping up. Bravo. We'll keep doing it anyway.

The District 22-5A executive committee will meet sometime this week to discuss the start of district football play, multiple coaches confirmed Monday.
Sustained flooding and other obstacles from Hurricane Harvey canceled games last week and this week and have put future games in doubt.
District 22-5A is supposed to start its eight-game district schedule next Friday.
Vidor coach Jeff Mathews estimated 80 percent of his players were evacuated last week and isn't sure when they will return.
Mathews said he lost him home to flooding and still has six feet of water in his house.
Vidor, whose week two game against Pasadena Memorial was canceled, is scheduled to open district play at home against Central.
"I don't know when we're going to be able to play football again," Mathews said. "Most of us are just trying to find a place to live."
Lumberton coach Chris Babin said 18 of the nearly 100 Raider football players he's spoken with have water damage in their homes.
Babin met with the Lumberton football team Monday for the first time since the flooding.
Lumberton was supposed to host Hamshire-Fannett on Friday in its final non-district game.
"When the committee meets, we need to make sure we're sensitive to the areas that were hit the hardest," Babin said. "I'm not sure what the solution will be but we need to be mindful of the teams that have got it the worst."
The city of Beaumont still doesn't have drinkable water, which means Ozen or Central can't practice until the issue is resolved.
Ozen coach Ed Taylor said he received water in his home.
Central coach Jeff Nelson said some of his players evacuated to places like Jasper and Lake Charles but expects most of his team back Tuesday.
Both school canceled their week two games.
Port Arthur Memorial also canceled its week two game against Westside.
"We've got to put the teams that were damaged the most first," Nelson said. "We have to think about their safety and helping them get back to a normal life."
Nederland and Port Neches-Groves are planning on playing their week two games, against Dayton and Baytown Sterling, respectively.
Nederland coach Monte Barrow said his team will have a light practice today then resume full practice Tuesday.
Barrow said Nederland was fortunate because it didn't get flooded as badly as cities like Vidor and Port Arthur.
Baytown Lee and Livingston - the other two 22-5A teams - will play their regularly scheduled games this week.
"You feel for those kids and coaches in the areas that were hardest hit," Barrow said. "We will do what we can for them."

Clear Lake and Clear Brook will play their week two football opponents this week, but Clear Creek, Clear Falls and Clear Springs aren't as fortunate.
The Falcons will be the first CCISD team in action when they play at Texas City at 7 p.m., Friday while the Wolverines will travel to play La Porte at 7 p.m., Saturday.
"We don't have school (this) week, and we're still waiting on approval from the district to practice," Clear Falls head coach Zach Head said Friday.
"Practice would be on a voluntary basis, but it does get us back into a little bit of normalcy. Dr. (Greg) Smith and Dr. (Scott) Bockart will meet and make that decision. A lot of things go into it, foremost being safety issues."
With each of the five high schools that have football teams falling under the same umbrella, one school can't start practice before another, even though its facilities may be in better shape than the others.
"It's a district-wide thing," Head said. "Either all of us practice or none us practice."
Games canceled this week include Clear Creek-Channelview and Clear Falls-Bellaire.
Clear Springs will scrimmage Pasadena Dobie, its week two opponent.
Games on Friday, Sept. 15 will have Clear Brook at South Houston, Clear Creek at Houston Heights, Pasadena Rayburn at Clear Falls and La Porte at Clear Springs.
"We're very fortunate out here," Head said of the Clear Falls campus. "Pretty much everything seems to be OK. There is some damage in the concession stand, and some cabinets and refrigerators had some damage. Our turf is in good shape, and the school itself did not take on water."
