Sure it's one of the bigger classes isn't it? May get to go visit and watch some games in that environment. Anyone commited play them etc?

Ps.. the teacher pay from Oklahoma to Texas is UNBELIEVABLE. It's sad lol

McKinney is not known for its football. The best football played there recently has been McKinney Boyd High. And they really haven't gone anywhere. Boyd had a TB a couple years back I was wanting Texas to get in on. I saw him play, he was about as fast as I'd seen in a while. He went somewhere else though, KSU I think.

The Boyd High School band is a treat to watch. They combine their music with a light show and their instruments light up. Very colorful and impressive.

The facilities are bad ass because McKinney is absolutely loaded with money. Great little town of 150,000. The downtown area is historic and charming. The golf courses are fabulous. The homes are huge and insanely expensive.

To give you an idea of the growth McKinney has seen, back in 1990, McKinney and Mt Pleasant were about the same size (12-15K people). Today, Mt Pleasant is about the same and McKinney has 150K.

Their water restrictions suck hind wind though. lol

Wow! Ok so it's not like around here where the town just has 1 high school lol so I was incorrect. Sounds like she got in a great school district though. Thanks for sharing some knowledge

McKinney High

McKinney North

McKinney Boyd

But hey, Celina is only a few minutes away :) They win all the time. Allen is just south and they win a lot. Lucas Lovejoy is nearby and they've won some hardware in the last few years.

I live in Allen and yes they win alot of games here.  Having only one school in Allen keeps the talent pool on one team.

I went to a football camp in Rockwall a few years ago most of the coaches I met there dislike Allen for that very reason.

McKinney High and McKinney Boyd are in the same district in class 6A.

If you combine their enrollments, High with 2743 and Boyd with 2846, they are still only the 3rd biggest school in their district.

McKinney USED to be somewhat known for football.  More in the 90's tho.  They were running the run & shoot when every other school in Texas was 3 downs and a cloud of smoke.  Ron Poe was the head coach.  Max Knake was the qb and he used to put up David Klingler/Andre ware numbers.  Mckinney High was in our (Denison) district at the time (9-4A).  And the only high school in the city. They had a stretch were their teams were unbelievable and amazing to watch.

I went to my nephew's graduation from Allen HS two years ago and thought it would never end. The class graduated at least 1500 kids from what I remember! I work in Georgetown, TX and that community fought opening a second HS for years. Finally opened HS number two about four years ago. Concern over diluting sports programs always delays the inevitable in some communities.

This was Plano for years and years. They not only refused to split into second and third high schools, but they instead built a specific school for their 9th and 10th grades so they'd only have to count 11th and 12th grade for enrollment.

Lewisville High does this as well. Kimbrough High in Lewisville is just 9th and 10th grade and don't count against LHS numbers.
