Texas has landed a key in-state commitment in the 2026 class with the addition of Yaheim Riley, a versatile 3-star safety out of Anderson High School in Austin.
Riley, who played his first three seasons at LBJ High School, had previously committed to Houston before decommitting in March. He took a visit to Texas in April and now becomes the first Austin-area commit for the Longhorns since Colton Vasek (Westlake) in the 2023 class.
The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back is ranked the No. 79 overall player in Texas and the No. 42 safety nationally, according to Rivals.com. Riley displays great instincts, strong ball skills, and ability to play under control. He is a sure tackler in the open field and brings versatility to the secondary, with the ability to line up at safety, nickel, or even cornerback.
A true ball hawk, Riley registered 80 tackles and three interceptions during his junior campaign and should bring both playmaking ability and leadership to the Longhorns’ defensive backfield. Riley selects the Longhorns over Houston, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.
