Former Texas Longhorn Volleyball star, Logan Eggleston, was named 2023 NCAA Woman of the Year last night in a Phoenix ceremony celebrating the Top 30 honorees from the class. She is the first student athelete at The University of Texas to receive the award in its 33-year history. NCAA Woman of the Year was created in 1991 to honor female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves not only in athletics but through their academics, leadership and community service.
On the same day, Eggleston announced she is returning to Austin, Texas, to join a new professional volleyball league, LOVB, that is set to launch later this year. Eggleston has played professionally internationally since receiving her undergraduate degree from Texas and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management from the University.
Austin LOVB became the sixth and final team to join their inaugural season. The league has investors such as former Texas Longhorn and NBA star, Kevin Durant, Billie Jean King and Olympian Lindsey Vonn.
