Like most of us, former Jim Thorpe Award-winning Texas defensive back Michael Huff probably didn’t like the results of the Manny Diaz defense last season. That’s why he sent a little gift to the current members of the defensive backfield reminding them to keep the “name” close, carry it forward and wear it with pride.

The Longhorns ranked 67th in total defense last season and finished with a run defense that was 88th in the country. The ‘Horns, statistically, defended well against the pass and ranked 36th to end the 2012 season.
