This is the question Longhorn fans around the country are asking themselves right now, as the team is coming off of two losses to both of the Oklahoma schools.  Coming off back to back losses could be something which could damage the psyche of this young football team, or, it could be a building block to help them find a way to bring back their winning ways to Austin.  Victory can always come from adversity.  This could be Mack Brown’s greatest coaching job at Texas if he is able to salvage the season at this point and turn it around.

I guess this may sound like doom and gloom, and in a way it is. This is a very young team and while the team will fight, there are some quality opponents on the horizon. With each loss this team loses some of its confidence and the coaches need to make sure to keep the team ready to play and prevent another disaster like last season.  The remaining schedule hasKansas, Texas  Tech,Missouri,Kansas State, Texas A&M, and Baylor.  All of these are quality opponents and one bad turn could undo the entire positive this team created when they started this year 4-0.

If the coaches can work on improving during the off week, there is also the chance that this team could run the table and have a chance to land in a quality bowl at the end of the season.  It will be up to the coaches how this young team responds and how the fan base will gauge success or failure this year.  At the start of the year, it was probably a safe bet to think this team could win 7 or 8 games, but then the 4-0 start made people think there could be more.  At this point it all remains to be seen where they will land.   This is the point of the year, where the season will be made or could be lost depending on where we go  from here.

Each Texas fan needs to think long and hard about this question,  “where do we go from here?”.  Then, be realistic and set your expectations accordingly.
