The Longhorns are loading up on defense in the 2015 class and the latest comes in the form of Center (TX) safety Johnny Shaw.  Shaw received an offer, his first Division I scholarship offer, from Gary Patterson’s Horned Frogs on May 17th and committed to TCU the next day.  After attending UT’s final minicamp of the summer on Sunday, Shaw received an offer and committed to Texas on the spot.  Yes, a trip to Austin is THAT powerful, folks.

Shaw has nice size for a defensive back, 6-2 and is on the closer side of 190 lbs.  He has good closing speed and can hit hard – real hard.  He is # 18 on Lone Star Recruiting’s top 100 for 2015 and is a very nice addition to a rapidly growing 2015 class of commits.

Here are a few tweets from Shaw’s head coach, Center’s Kevin Goodwin that show his excitement and pride for Shaw:

University of Texas just OFFERED Johnny Shaw #Ridernation twitter.com/KDG1974/status…
