Aug. 31 – New Mexico State Aggies (0-6) vs Rice Owls

Line: Rice -18

Prediction: Rice 52, New Mexico State 17

Rice is coming off a win over UTSA and should run the table the rest of the way. Nothing like a trip to Las Cruces to really get the ball rolling.

Sept. 7 – BYU Cougars (4-2) @ Houston Cougars

Line: BYU -9.5

Prediction: BYU 31, Houston 20

Houston should have lost to Rice and was in deep trouble against UTSA for three quarters. I think 20 points could be too generous for Cougars to get against one of the best defenses in America.

Sept. 14 – Ole Miss Rebels (3-3) vs LSU Tigers

Line: LSU -10

Prediction: LSU 35, Ole Miss 21

LSU is what the Rebels aspire to be one day. Ole Miss doesn’t have the defensive line or secondary to hold up against the Tigers attack, and the defense will put Bo Wallace in lockdown.

Sept. 21 – Kansas State Wildcats (2-4) OPEN DATE

Line: N/A

Prediction: N/A

Next two games against WVU and ISU are at home and must win for the Wildcats. The bye week is fortuitous to say the least.

Oct. 3 – Iowa State Cyclones (1-4) @ Baylor Bears

Line: Baylor -32.5

Prediction: Baylor 56, Iowa State 28

Not much to breakdown here. The Cyclones defense will be unable to keep up with the Bears on any level. Any bowl hopes ISU had will be all but officially dead with the loss.

Oct. 12 – Oklahoma Sooners (5-1) @ Kansas Jayhawks

Line: Oklahoma -23.5

Prediction: Oklahoma 31, Kansas 17

Simply put, Texas beat the brakes off Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, giving teams the blue print of how to overpower the Sooners defense. OU at the QB spot is a mess, so I expect a closer than anticipated win for Stoops troops.

Oct. 26 – TCU Horned Frogs (3-3) @ Oklahoma State Cowboys

Line: Oklahoma State -7.5

Prediction: Oklahoma State 28, TCU 17

Boykin is trying, he really is, but the kid just doesn’t have what it takes, and that will be his undoing. OSU will have a tough time with the Horned Frogs defense, but will pull out the win.

Nov. 2 – Kansas Jayhawks (2-3) vs Oklahoma Sooners

Line: Oklahoma -23.5

Prediction: Oklahoma 31, Kansas 17

So, anyone else quit the Jayhawks program yet? Not too bad against TCU in the loss last week, even if only 37 people showed up to see it.

Nov. 9 – West Virginia Mountaineers (3-3) vs Texas Tech Red Raiders

Line: Texas Tech -6

Prediction: Texas Tech 45, West Virginia 42

I am looking forward to this game, as it should feature some fireworks on both sides of the ball. Feel like the Mountaineers will have a shot late but the outstanding coaching of Joe DeForest will lead to a special teams gaffe costing “Dub V”.

Nov. 16 – Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-1) vs TCU Horned Frogs

Line: Oklahoma State -7.5

Prediction: Oklahoma State 28, TCU 17

November 2nd in Lubbock could feature the 6-1 Cowboys at the 7-1 or 8-0 Red Raiders. How interesting would that game be?

Nov. 28 – Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-0) @ West Virginia Mountaineers

Line: Texas Tech -6

Prediction: Texas Tech 45, West Virginia 42

Kliff Kingsbury is getting it done in a big way back home in Lubbock. This is going to be the first real test for the Red Raiders.

Dec. 7 – Baylor Bears (5-0) vs Iowa State Cyclones

Line: Baylor -32.5

Prediction: Baylor 56, Iowa State 28

Baylor stood up to the road test at KSU last week. ISU will fight hard, but doesnt have the athletes to keep up with the speed of the Bears.

Combined Record of Opponents: 38-27
