Maker:  Tap Room No. 21, Rochester, NY

As the first official review on BevoBevoball.com’s Beer Corner, we could find no better beer to review than Tap Room No. 21 Moe’s Corner Pale Ale.  Why did we choose this beer as our inaugural victim?  Well, frankly it caught our fancy in the supermarket because it talked about prohibition and it fit the price we wanted to pay – around $6.99 for a six pack.  If you visit the Tap Room No. 21 website you can find out more about the company and its origin, as well as more about speakeasies and corruption….

First of all the beer poured well into our pint glass.  It has the nice amber/copperish color that you would expect of pale ale and has a nice smell that is not too strong or overbearing like some pale ales we have tried.  We live in Texas where it is pushing triple digits on the thermometer so we served this sucker super cold.  It had a refreshing taste for a not-so-strong pale ale (alcohol by volume is 5.3% and IBU of 35).  Meaning, the aftertaste is not bad and the beer is a good starter to a nice buzz.

This is a good beer that I recommend for those that do not like the strong taste of India Pale Ale’s or even some of the other non-strong pale ales.  Compared to our favorite pale Ale, Sierra Nevada, this is much lighter.  Moe’s Corner Pale Ale is not a “bitter beer face”  beer and would make an interesting addition at parties or get-togethers.
