Texas picked up their seventh commitment in the recruiting class of 2027, their first on the offensive line, with Jackson Cook’s announcement on Monday.
Cook, a 6-3, 290 lb. three star prospect out of Westlake High School (Austin, TX), held offers from over two dozen programs. The Longhorns won the recruiting battle for Cook’s services over Texas A&M, Duke, SMU and Arkansas. He received an offer from Kyle Flood and Steve Sarkisian on March 13, and took visits to Duke, SMU and Arkansas before committing to Texas.
Cook is listed as the 128th best player in the state of Texas and the 62nd best offensive lineman in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings.
He becomes the seventh commit in Texas’ 2027 Recruiting Class, joining JT Geraci (TE), Cameron Hall (EDGE), Cade Haug (LB), Karnell James (DB), Ty Knutson (QB), and Easton Royal (WR).
