Nobody was sure exactly when 6’5″ 320 lb. offensive tackle Darius James from Harker Heights High School would make up his mind but the news popped today that he would play at the University of Texas. James was scheduled to visit Bob Stoops and the University of Oklahoma last weekend and thankfully for the Longhorns, he did not make the trip. LSU was hot in pursuit of James as well. Instead he joined Harker Heights teammates Naashon Hughes as a commit to the University of Texas. James also played with Naashon’s brother and 2012 Texas signee Camrhon Hughes at Harker Heights High School, so he is no stranger to the Longhorn football program. He is a nationally top-100 ranked player and had offers from LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, among others.  Darius James becomes the 12th 2013 commitment in a class that could easily be considered the best in the country to-date. The junior’s size, skill-set and versatility make him a much sough-after recruit. James can play guard, center and even defense. Mack Brown is wasting no time in raking in the blue-chippers and from the looks of things he isn’t finished.
