The Texas Longhorns (2-1, 0-0) look to win their fourth straight against Matt Wells and the Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-0, 0-0) on Saturday, as Steve Sarkisian makes his Big 12 debut as head coach in Austin. The Red Raiders bring a revamped defense and new quarterback into the fold this season in Oregon transfer Tyler Shough, while Texas QB1 Casey Thompson starts under center in his first conference game.
Texas’ rushing attack has had success through three games this season, but Texas Tech yields just 50 yards on the ground to opponents per game.
Big 12 play opens for both teams and it is critical for the Longhorns to fire on all cylinders if they want to send Texas Tech back to Lubbock with a loss.
